The historical Hagia Sophia Church with its splendid frescos was built in the 13th century during the reign of King Manuel I. After Sultan Mehmet II conquered the city in 1461, the Church was converted into a Mosque and its frescos covered in whitewash. Enjoy a short orientation walk around the city and explore the history of Trabzon whilst leaving time for local shopping. Proceed to Uzungol, a picturesque lake surrounded by thick woods.
